The TL-SG1210P is an unmanaged network switch designed to consolidate power delivery and network connectivity for small to mid-scale IP security deployments. Eight of the ten gigabit ports are equipped with PoE+, delivering up to 30W per port — sufficient to power high-draw cameras with motorized lenses, pan-tilt-zoom heads, or dual-sensor turrets without requiring separate PoE injectors on individual runs. The remaining two ports accept standard gigabit devices (NVRs, switches, managed infrastructure). No managed features means no configuration overhead — plug it in, assign power, and run. Fanless design eliminates noise and maintenance, making it suitable for office ceilings, wiring closets, or cabinet mounting in surveillance control rooms.
Use the TL-SG1210P to feed any PoE or PoE+ powered camera, wireless access point, or powered device on a single gigabit network segment. Pairs well with unmanaged switch stacks or as the edge PoE layer in larger installations where a managed core switch already handles VLAN and redundancy logic. Not suitable for link aggregation, VLAN isolation, or failover scenarios — those require managed infrastructure upstream.
Desktop form factor occupies minimal rack or shelf space. All ten ports are rear-mounted RJ-45 connectors. Each PoE port draws from a shared 120W on-board power budget (approximately 30W × 4 simultaneous devices at max draw, or sustained 10–15W across all eight ports in typical camera deployments). Plan power budget based on connected device specs, not theoretical maximums. AC power input only; no 12VDC option. Operating temperature 0–40°C (32–104°F) — suitable for indoor control rooms and temperate wiring closets, not outdoor cabinets.
If deployment requires redundant power supplies, managed VLAN tagging, or line-rate gigabit switching across more than eight simultaneous PoE devices, evaluate managed PoE switch options from TP-Link's industrial or enterprise lines. For outdoor or harsh-environment installations, consider DIN-rail managed switches with extended temperature ranges and redundant power inputs.
