TP-Link TL-SG1210P 10-Port Gigabit Desktop PoE+ Switch
Overview
The TL-SG1210P is an unmanaged gigabit switch that consolidates network and power delivery for small-to-mid-scale IP security installations. Eight of the ten ports deliver PoE+ (up to 30W per port), eliminating the need for separate PoE injectors on individual camera runs. The remaining two gigabit ports accept upstream infrastructure or non-powered devices. No management overhead — plug, power, and deploy. Fanless operation makes it suitable for ceiling-mounted ceilings, wiring closets, or surveillance control room cabinets.
Compatibility
Works with any single PoE or PoE+ powered device: IP cameras (including PTZ and dual-sensor models with motorized lenses), 802.11ac/802.11ax wireless access points, IP phones, access control readers, and powered lighting systems. Pairs seamlessly with unmanaged switch stacks or as the edge PoE aggregation layer in larger installations where a managed core switch upstream handles VLAN and failover logic. Not suitable for link aggregation, VLAN isolation, or active-active redundancy — those require managed infrastructure.
Installation Notes
Desktop form factor fits minimal rack or shelf space. All ten RJ-45 ports are rear-mounted. Each PoE port draws from a shared 120W on-board power budget — plan for approximately 30W × 4 simultaneous high-draw devices at maximum, or sustained 10–15W across all eight ports in typical camera deployments. AC power input only; no 12VDC option. Operating temperature 0–40°C (32–104°F) — suitable for indoor control rooms and temperate wiring closets, not outdoor enclosures. PoE extend mode supports data and power transmission up to 250m for long-distance camera runs in large facility deployments.
