Description

TP-Link EAP655-WALL AX3000 Wall-Plate Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Access Point

Overview

The EAP655-WALL is a flush-mount, dual-band 802.11ax access point engineered for in-wall deployment in enterprise and warehouse automation environments. It consolidates wireless coverage and network connectivity into a single wall-mounted unit, eliminating the need for separate ceiling-mount APs or bridging cables in existing junction boxes. The 3000 Mbps aggregate throughput (574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz + 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz) supports concurrent device density typical in modern secure facilities without channel saturation.

Ports and Power

One gigabit uplink port connects to core network infrastructure; three gigabit downlink ports enable local wired device connections (surveillance recorders, access control panels, gate controllers) without requiring separate PoE injectors. IEEE 802.3at/af PoE support (15.4–30W input) powers the AP itself; PoE passthrough on downlink ports allows powered devices to draw from the same source, reducing cable runs and simplifying provisioning in retrofit installations.

Wireless Performance and Management

MU-MIMO, band steering, and load-balancing logic distribute traffic across 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, lowering latency for real-time IoT and camera feeds. Two internal antennas and beamforming focus signal strength toward deployed clients. Centralized management via Omada SDN Controller or cloud-native Omada App enables firmware updates, VLAN segmentation, and guest network isolation across multiple sites — critical for multi-facility warehouse or distribution networks where IT standardization is mandatory.

Installation Notes

Compatible with EU and US standard wall junction boxes, the EAP655-WALL (143 × 86 × 42.6 mm) fits existing in-wall cavities. Verify junction box depth and PoE source availability before ordering; consult the mounting template in the product documentation to confirm fit in your specific facility electrical plans.
