TP-Link EAP610 AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Ceiling Access Point
Overview
The EAP610 is a dual-band 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) access point designed for ceiling-mount deployment in enterprise office, retail, and light-industrial environments. At AX1800 concurrent throughput, it delivers adequate performance for medium-density spaces with client counts under 100 devices per AP. The EAP610 integrates with TP-Link's Omada management platform—either on-premises controller or cloud SaaS—enabling centralized provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting across multi-site deployments without per-unit manual setup.
Compatibility
The EAP610 operates within the TP-Link Omada business line and integrates with Omada Cloud Controller or on-premises Omada Controller software. It is compatible with any PoE-capable network switch or injector supplying 802.3af (minimum 15.4W) or 802.3bt power. Standard Gigabit Ethernet backhaul is required; higher-throughput models benefit from multi-gig uplinks in dense deployment scenarios. The unit supports zero-touch provisioning when paired with Omada Cloud Controller, automating remote configuration across branch sites. All 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax clients connect without firmware updates—backward compatibility is native.
Installation Notes
Ceiling mounting requires standard drop-ceiling grid clips or solid drywall anchors rated for the unit's weight. Verify your network switch PoE allocation before installation—the EAP610 draws power via 802.3af standard, so confirm your PoE supply can sustain the number of APs you plan to deploy. Run Gigabit Ethernet to each AP location; Wi-Fi 6 performance and roaming stability depend on stable wired backhaul, especially in VoIP-heavy or video-streaming environments. If your facility requires coverage for 200+ concurrent devices or dense IoT sensor networks, evaluate higher-throughput Omada variants (EAP660 HD, EAP670, or Wi-Fi 6E models) from the product line.
