Overview

The DS1018GMP is a 1U rackmount network switch with 16 gigabit PoE+ ports and a 250 W aggregate power budget — consolidating power delivery and switching into a single 19-inch rack unit. This unmanaged design eliminates configuration overhead, making it ideal for warehouses, remote surveillance hubs, and facility entrance areas where you need to centrally power and network IP cameras, wireless access points, or other PoE-compliant endpoints without managing VLANs or spanning trees. The two additional non-PoE gigabit ports and dual SFP combo slots provide uplink flexibility for fiber or copper backbone connections.

Compatibility

The DS1018GMP supplies standards-compliant IEEE 802.3at/af PoE power to any device rated for gigabit over copper — including IP cameras (15–30W draw), wireless access points, VoIP phones, and industrial IoT endpoints. The 250 W total budget supports approximately 15–16 high-power devices simultaneously (e.g., 30W PTZ cameras) or a denser mix of lower-draw endpoints. Each of the 16 PoE ports delivers up to 30 W per port, sufficient for mid-range powered endpoints. The two non-PoE ports and SFP combo slots (MMF and SMF compatible, modules not included) connect to upstream switches, core network equipment, or distant infrastructure over longer runs. No driver installation or controller software is required — pair with your existing network infrastructure as a transparent power and switching layer.

Installation Notes

Rackmount footprint is 17.3 × 7.1 × 1.73 inches (440 × 180 × 44 mm), occupying a single 1U slot in standard 19-inch equipment racks. Maximum power consumption reaches 293 W when all PoE ports deliver full 30 W load; no external power supply needed — mains inlet only. Operating temperature range 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F) makes it suitable for unheated enclosures in mild climates; for cold storage or outdoor cabinets, verify environmental controls are in place. Dual fans provide passive cooling; verify airflow clearance in tight rack deployments. All 16 PoE ports support IEEE 802.3at/af standard; verify your planned endpoints meet this specification before installation.
