The AP9665 is a ceiling-mount access point engineered for high-density enterprise deployments—warehouses, large open-plan offices, educational facilities—where a single AP must serve 1000+ simultaneous clients without RF congestion or roaming dropouts. It delivers 3.55 Gbps aggregate throughput (1148 Mbps at 2.4 GHz + 2402 Mbps at 5 GHz) via Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with OFDMA, which divides channel capacity among multiple clients in parallel rather than forcing them to take turns—dramatically cutting latency per device in crowded RF environments. The dual-band design pairs 4x4 dBi internal antennas on each band, using beamforming to focus RF energy toward connected devices and improve signal penetration through ceiling installations, reducing dead zones that plague traditional omnidirectional mounts. Connectivity includes a 2.5G Ethernet uplink (primary LAN) plus a Gigabit Ethernet fallback port and USB 3.0, preventing network bottlenecks on modern switched infrastructure. Power comes via IEEE 802.3bt PoE (no separate AC runs to ceiling needed) or optional 12V DC auxiliary supply. Centralized management through TP-Link Omada Pro SDN controller enables bulk client policies, airtime fairness (prevents single slow device from degrading the network), automatic load balancing, and seamless roaming with fast 802.11k/v/w transitions—essential for mobile warehouse scanners and staff moving between zones.
The AP9665 integrates into any network infrastructure supporting 802.3bt PoE or 12V DC auxiliary power supplies. Primary use case: paired with TP-Link Omada Pro managed switches to centralize VLAN assignment, guest network isolation, and Wi-Fi band steering. Works with standard RJ45 cabling (Cat5e minimum recommended for 2.5G performance). Requires Omada Pro SDN controller (cloud-based or on-premises) or Omada mobile app for management; standalone mode available but loses centralized roaming optimization and load balancing. Supports 16 simultaneous SSIDs (8 per band), WPA3-Personal/Enterprise encryption, 802.1X authentication, and MAC-based access control—standard enterprise security posture. Compatible with warehouse WMS systems and mobile devices via standard 802.11ax client drivers.
Ceiling, wall, and junction-box mounting kits are included. Operating temperature range: 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F)—suitable for climate-controlled indoor deployments only; not rated for outdoor or unheated storage areas. Dimensions: 220 x 220 x 32.5 mm (W x D x H). 802.3bt PoE delivers up to 90W per port on compatible switches, sufficient for this unit and any connected USB devices. Plan uplink cabling to managed network switch within the same PoE power domain to avoid undersized PoE injector issues.
