Description

TP-Link AP9635 Omada Pro AX1800 Ceiling Mount Access Point

Overview

The AP9635 is a thin-profile ceiling-mount Wi-Fi 6 access point purpose-built for high-density enterprise, warehouse, and retail deployments. It delivers 574 Mbps (2.4 GHz) + 1201 Mbps (5 GHz) for a combined 1.775 Gbps throughput and supports 1000+ concurrent wireless clients—essential when you're managing IoT sensors, mobile scanners, and personnel devices across warehouse floors or open retail spaces. Dual internal antenna sets (2× 4 dBi at 2.4 GHz; 2× 5 dBi at 5 GHz) with beamforming focus RF energy to endpoints, cutting dead zones and co-channel interference without requiring external antenna mounts that complicate ceiling aesthetics.

Single 1 Gigabit Ethernet uplink keeps the form factor compact (160 × 160 × 33.6 mm), but means backhaul traffic must be light or segregated—typical in mesh or daisy-chain topologies where each AP serves a discrete zone rather than aggregating all traffic through one uplink. Three power options (48V passive PoE, 802.3at active PoE, or 12V/1.5A DC) eliminate the need for separate electrical conduit runs; use passive PoE where your switch supports it to reduce power supply count.

Compatibility

The AP9635 integrates with the TP-Link Omada SDN ecosystem—Omada Controller Pro (cloud or on-premises) provides centralized provisioning, band steering, load balancing, and airtime fairness across multiple APs. It is compatible with any standard 802.3at PoE-enabled network switch or injector and works with 12V DC supplies rated 1.5A minimum. Operates within TP-Link Omada-managed networks supporting VLAN, WIPS/WIDS, rogue AP detection, and MAC filtering. Not designed as a standalone AP without controller management.

Installation Notes

Ceiling and wall mounting kits are included; verify mounting surface load rating meets 33.6 mm depth and hardware weight. RJ45 connector requires standard Cat6 or better cabling; keep runs under 100 meters. Operating temperature range 0°C–40°C (32°F–104°F)—verify your warehouse climate control meets this window, especially during seasonal extremes or before deploying in unheated storage areas. Bluetooth is supported for commissioning via Omada App; no separate commissioning laptop required on-site. Single Gigabit uplink means simultaneous multi-AP backhaul traffic can saturate the port—plan mesh topology with light inter-AP data flows or use dedicated backhaul APs in high-client-density zones.
