The AP9670 is a ceiling-mount Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) access point built for medium-to-large enterprise deployments where consistent dual-band coverage and centralized control matter — warehouses, office floors, and security operations centers. It delivers 4,804 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz via a 6-stream architecture, with a single 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet uplink that prevents bottlenecking on modern enterprise switches. The key differentiator is the 2.5G port: on high-density floors with dozens of APs, standard 1G uplinks become the constraint, not the radio. Power comes via 802.3at PoE (up to 30W) or optional 12VDC supply — no AC conduit needed in ceiling cavities. Coverage reaches approximately 1,500 ft² per unit in typical ceiling-mount scenarios.
Compatibility
The AP9670 integrates with the TP-Link Omada SDN ecosystem — either a hardware Omada Controller or cloud-free software controller. Omada management enables centralized provisioning, seamless roaming across multiple APs, client load balancing, and AI-Channel Optimization that dynamically adjusts transmit power and band assignment based on live traffic patterns. It supports 802.3at PoE injection from any managed or unmanaged PoE switch capable of delivering 30W per port; most enterprise-grade switches meet this requirement. The 2.5G port requires a 2.5G-capable uplink (common on modern multi-gig switches and fiber converters) but will downgrade to 1G negotiation on legacy infrastructure — no configuration needed. Compatible with 802.11ax client devices (Windows 11, macOS 11+, iOS 14+, Android 10+) and backward-compatible with 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) and 802.11n (Wi-Fi 4) clients. Installation Notes
Ceiling-mount installation requires a standard junction box (included in kit). The AP9670 draws up to 30W over PoE, so verify your switch port budget before dense deployments — a 48-port switch with 30W available per port can sustain roughly 16 APs at full load before hitting practical limits. If using external 12VDC power, a dedicated PSU (sold separately) is required per AP or daisy-chained via multi-output supplies. 160 MHz channel support (available on 5 GHz in compatible regulatory domains) requires verification against local spectrum rules before deployment. Omada SDN controller setup is one-click via the Omada App or web browser but requires at least one static IP or DHCP-assigned controller instance on the network.
