Overview
The ATEN VE800A is a compact HDMI extender designed to transmit high-definition video signals over a single Cat 5e/6 cable, extending your display up to 40 meters (131 ft) for 1080p resolution or 60 meters (196 ft) for 1080i. This device is ideal for extending HDMI sources to remote displays in control rooms, digital signage, or presentation environments where direct cable runs are impractical. The VE800A unit itself is designed for integration into rack-mounted systems.
Compatibility
This extender is compatible with any HDMI source device and display, supporting standard HDMI Type A connections. It functions as a point-to-point extension solution, requiring one VE800A unit at the source and another at the display end, connected via a Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable. It does not require specific software or drivers, making it plug-and-play with most HDMI-enabled equipment.
Installation Notes
For optimal performance and signal integrity, use Cat 5e or Cat 6 cables. The maximum transmission distance is dependent on the resolution: up to 1080p at 40 meters and 1080i at 60 meters. The device operates within a humidity range of 0–80% RH, non-condensing. Power is supplied via a DC jack, with one DC jack input per unit.
