ATEN VE811 HDMI HDBaseT Extender
Overview
The ATEN VE811 is a HDBaseT extender designed to transmit HDMI signals up to 100 meters over a single Cat 6a cable. This device is critical for extending high-resolution video feeds in environments where direct cable runs are impractical, such as large conference rooms, auditoriums, or digital signage deployments. The VE811 supports 4K resolutions, ensuring crisp video quality for demanding applications. Its Long Reach Mode switch allows for extended transmission distances when needed, providing deployment flexibility.
Compatibility
This extender transmits signals from any HDMI source device. It is compatible with Cat 5e, Cat 6, and Cat 6a Ethernet cabling. For optimal performance and maximum distance at 4K resolution, Cat 6a or ATEN's 2L-2910 Cat6 cable is recommended. The extender supports standard HDMI resolutions including 1920x1200 @ 60 Hz (Reduced Blanking) and up to 4K resolutions at 60Hz (4:2:0) or 30Hz (4:4:4).
Installation Notes
The VE811 requires a standard DC power connection via its locking DC jack. It features a slide switch for enabling 'Long Reach Mode', which extends the transmission distance up to 100 meters over Cat 6a cabling, compared to 70 meters over Cat 5e/6 in standard mode. Operating humidity should remain between 0-80% RH, non-condensing, to prevent moisture damage.
