Description

Allied Telesis AT-PC2000/SP-960 TAA PoE+ Gigabit SFP Media Converter

Overview

The AT-PC2000/SP-960 is a TAA-compliant, SFP-based Gigabit PoE+ media converter designed to bridge fiber backbone runs to copper-connected PoE+ powered devices at the network edge. If you're extending a fiber segment to an IP camera, access control reader, or VoIP endpoint that requires both data and inline power, this converter handles the media transition and PoE+ delivery in a single unit — eliminating the need for a separate power injector at the far end.

Compatibility

This unit is SFP-based, meaning the fiber interface is determined by the SFP transceiver you install — single-mode, multimode, or wavelength-specific modules are all options depending on your run distance and fiber plant. The copper side presents as a standard Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 port capable of delivering PoE+ (802.3at) to the connected device. Compatible with any 802.3at PoE+ powered device drawing up to 30W, including IP cameras, PTZ heads, and access control panels. For deployments requiring TAA compliance — federal projects, GSA schedules, or DoD installations — this converter satisfies the Trade Agreements Act requirement at the infrastructure layer. Verify SFP module TAA status separately if the full link must be TAA-compliant end to end. Review the broader Allied Telesis networking lineup for compatible SFP transceivers and switches in the same family.

Installation Notes

SFP transceiver is not included — specify your fiber type and distance before ordering to select the correct module. The PoE+ budget available to the downstream device is constrained by the power source feeding this converter; confirm your upstream switch or power supply can deliver adequate wattage for the converter's own draw plus the full 30W PoE+ output. Mount in a protected enclosure if deployed outside a conditioned space — no environmental rating data is available in current evidence for this unit, so treat it as an indoor/controlled-environment device until confirmed otherwise.
