Description

System Sensor BEAMLRK Active Infrared Beam Detector

Overview

The System Sensor BEAMLRK is an active infrared beam detector designed for perimeter protection and entrance monitoring in security installations. Unlike spot-type detectors, the BEAMLRK projects a continuous infrared beam across open areas—useful where traditional detectors are impractical to install or maintain. The long-range kit configuration supports detection spans from 16 feet to 328 feet, making it suitable for high-ceiling spaces, wide doorways, and outdoor perimeter applications. Operates on 32VDC with relay output for direct integration into fire alarm and security control panels, allowing hardwired signaling in distributed sensor networks without protocol translation.

Compatibility

Integrates with any UL-listed 24–32 VDC fire alarm and security control panels accepting relay-based sensor inputs. The detector works in retrofit and new construction scenarios where 32VDC power is available and relay signaling is preferred over networked protocols. Consult your control panel documentation to confirm relay input availability before purchase. The BEAMLRK is suitable for perimeter protection installations in warehouses, loading docks, garages, and commercial building entrances where temperature extremes (–22°F to 131°F) or harsh environmental conditions exceed the capability of standard spot detectors.

Installation Notes

Beam alignment is accomplished using an integral optical sight and a 2-digit signal strength meter built into the transmitter/receiver unit—no special alignment tools are required. The reflector must be mounted directly across from the detector unit within the rated detection range; verify beam strength during commissioning. The detector is listed to UL Standard 268 and suitable for garages and outdoor harsh environments. Confirm 32VDC power availability at the installation site and verify relay contact ratings (10 A @ 125/250 VAC) match your control panel's input specifications before final wiring.
