System Sensor BEAMMMK Beam Detector Multi-Mount Kit
Overview
The BEAMMMK is a mounting accessory kit designed to support flexible installation of System Sensor beam detectors (BEAM1224 series) across varied structural and spatial configurations. This kit addresses the core problem: beam detectors require precise alignment between transmitter/receiver and reflector, and site conditions—ceiling type, obstruction clearance, retrofit constraints—dictate mounting angle and positioning. The BEAMMMK provides the hardware necessary to adapt installations to walls, ceilings, conduit, and structural members in warehouses, garages, and large open areas where spot-type smoke detectors are impractical.
Compatibility
The BEAMMMK is designed for use with System Sensor BEAM1224 Series 4-wire projected beam smoke detectors. The kit is compatible with control panels and systems operating at 32VDC (15–32 VDC range). It supports installations where beam detectors monitor open areas with high ceilings—typical in commercial warehouses, parking garages, manufacturing floors, and loading docks. Installation flexibility allows integrators to mount units on vertical surfaces, angled ceilings, or structural columns where standard fixed brackets would not align the detector's transmitter/receiver with the reflector across the detection zone.
Installation Notes
The BEAM1224 detector includes integral optical sight and a 2-digit signal strength meter for field alignment—no special tools are required during commissioning. The multi-mount kit accommodates installation in environments with extreme temperatures (–22°F to 131°F operating range), making it suitable for unheated garages and warehouses. Ensure the reflector maintains clear line-of-sight to the transmitter/receiver unit; the 16 ft. to 328 ft. (4.9–100 m) detection range depends on unobstructed path. Six user-selectable sensitivity levels—including four standard and two Acclimate settings—allow the detector to self-adjust sensitivity for dust, vapor, or other environmental factors that may otherwise trigger false alarms. Secure the mounting hardware to load-bearing members rated for the detector and reflector assembly weight.
