Overview
The BEAMSMK is a surface-mount hardware kit designed to secure System Sensor BEAM1224 series beam detectors during installation in fire detection and smoke alarm systems. This accessory provides the mechanical fastening and positioning components needed to mount single-ended reflected-type beam detectors on walls, ceilings, and structural surfaces in commercial, warehouse, and industrial environments. The kit supports UL-listed fire alarm control panel integration where detectors operate on 15–32 VDC power sources.
Compatibility
The BEAMSMK works with the System Sensor BEAM1224 series, a 4-wire projected beam smoke detector designed for open areas with high ceilings where traditional spot-type detectors are impractical. The BEAM1224 operates from –22°F to 131°F, making it suitable for garages, warehouses, and other harsh environments where temperature extremes exceed standard detector ratings. Confirm compatibility with your specific BEAM1224 model variant (standard or Acclimate sensitivity setting) before purchase.
Installation Notes
Mount the detector unit and its reflector according to the BEAM1224 installation guide; the BEAMSMK provides the surface-mount hardware to secure both components. The detector's integral optical sight and 2-digit signal strength meter enable swift alignment without special tools. Position the reflector to maintain a clear optical path from 16 ft. to 328 ft., depending on sensitivity selection. Installation must comply with all local fire and building codes, and the system must be commissioned with a UL-listed control panel providing appropriate 15–32 VDC power.
