Description

System Sensor 2WTA-B Photoelectric Smoke Detector

Overview

The System Sensor 2WTA-B is a photoelectric smoke detector with integrated thermal sensing, designed for two-wire conventional or addressable fire detection loops operating at 35VDC. This detector combines early-warning smoke detection with heat-activation capability, addressing mixed-risk environments where both rapid smoke response and thermal backup are required. The 2WTA-B fits standard octagonal and single-gang back boxes, or mounts directly to ceiling with drywall anchors—typical in commercial offices, warehouses, mechanical rooms, and industrial facilities where dual-detection simplifies compliance and reduces false alarms through drift compensation and smoothing algorithms built into the i3 protocol.

Compatibility

Integrates with two-wire fire alarm panels (conventional or addressable) and building management systems supporting 35VDC loops. The detector works with the 2W-MOD2 loop test/maintenance module for remote LED signaling, and is compatible with the SENS-RDR wireless sensitivity reader. Mounting base is included; detector uses plug-in Stop-Drop 'N Lock attachment to simplify pre-wiring and field swap-outs.

Installation Notes

Mounts to 3½-inch octagonal back box, 4-square back box, or direct ceiling mounting. Large wire entry port and in-line terminals with SEMS screws accommodate neat internal routing. Operates at 35VDC on a two-wire loop—no additional power supply required. The removable detector cover and chamber enable simplified testing and maintenance. Built-in test switch supports EZ Walk loop testing. Detector draws current typical of conventional photoelectric devices; confirm two-wire loop capacity with your panel's power budget before deployment.
