Overview
The STI-7520 is a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure designed to shield access control hardware, readers, power supplies, and control modules from physical damage, dust, moisture, and corrosive conditions. The clear polycarbonate construction allows visual inspection of mounted equipment without opening the cabinet. It is equipped with a key lock strike mechanism and includes a backplate for straightforward surface mounting. Typical deployments include outdoor credential readers, freezer-environment control panels, unheated warehouses, and high-vandalism locations where electronic equipment requires both visibility and mechanical security.
Compatibility
The STI-7520 serves as a protective housing for standard access control readers, keypads, intercoms, and auxiliary electronics that mount via standard backplate hardware. It is compatible with devices designed for surface-mounted cabinet installation and integrates into retrofit and new-build security system installations. The polycarbonate design is transparent, enabling mounted equipment to function (e.g., LED indicators, infrared keypads) without obstruction. Confirm that your mounted device(s) fit within the cabinet's interior volume and that any cabling passes through the provided knockouts or entry points.
Installation Notes
Mounting hardware and weatherproof seals are included. The cabinet operates across standard AC/DC voltage ranges (12, 16.5, or 24 VAC/VDC are typical for heated variants). The polycarbonate material is rated NEMA 4X, meaning it resists corrosive salt spray, direct water spray, and dust ingress — suitable for coastal, outdoor, and wash-down environments. Operating temperature range is −40°F to +250°F (−40°C to +121°C). If heating is required (to prevent LCD freeze or condensation in cold storage), specify the heated variant (HTR suffix). Mount the backplate to a solid vertical surface using the supplied hardware; ensure the mounting surface can support the weight of the cabinet plus internal equipment.
