Description

STI STI-HTR550T Cabinet Heater with Fan

Overview

The STI-HTR550T is a 9VDC cabinet heater unit designed to manage temperature and humidity inside access control and security system enclosures. It solves the condensation and thermal drift problem that occurs when cabinet temperature swings between day and night cycles — moisture buildup corrodes relay contacts and degrades circuit board performance. This heater fits standard 19-inch and compact access control cabinet architectures and draws power directly from the same 9VDC supply rail as door strikes and electronic locks, eliminating the need for separate transformers or external power conditioning.

Compatibility

The STI-HTR550T is compatible with access control systems and security equipment cabinets that operate on nominal 9VDC or 12V power supplies. It integrates into cabinet architectures already wired for electronic locking devices and strike assemblies. The low-voltage DC requirement means it works alongside standard door access control components without additional power distribution infrastructure.

Installation Notes

Mount the heater unit vertically or horizontally within the cabinet enclosure. The integrated fan assembly draws warm air through heating elements and distributes it throughout the cabinet volume, preventing temperature stratification. This circulation method is particularly effective in climate-controlled facilities where day-night temperature swings create condensation challenges. The heater operates at low power draw to minimize demand on security system UPS and backup power supplies, ensuring uninterrupted operation during mains failure.
