Overview
The NT-CA100-EN is a cast aluminum infrared contactless switch designed to eliminate physical contact points in door access and building automation systems. It operates via active infrared sensing — a user waves their hand 1.5 to 6 inches in front of the device, and the sensor triggers a Form C dry contact relay. This solves the hygiene and wear problem inherent in traditional mechanical push buttons, particularly in high-traffic public buildings, healthcare facilities, and secure entry points where cross-contamination risk or button durability is a concern. The unit accepts three interchangeable snap-in illuminated message lenses, allowing you to brand or label the switch without swapping hardware.
Compatibility
The NT-CA100-EN integrates with any 12VDC or 24VDC door control, access control relay panel, or building automation system expecting a dry-contact switch output. The Form C contact rating (0.5A @ 120VAC, 1A @ 24VDC) is compatible with standard electromagnetic locks, electronic strikes, and relay inputs on commercial access control panels. The heavy-duty die-cast aluminum faceplate is oversized to cover existing installation cutouts, making it suitable for retrofit into older switch boxes without modification. Three snap-in message modules ship with the unit, allowing customization across multi-tenant or multi-zone sites without hardware replacement.
Installation Notes
Operating voltage range is 12VDC–24VDC at 45mA maximum draw. Detection range is factory-set at 1.5–6 inches (±25%), and the adjustable relay latch time is user-configurable from 0.5 to 20 seconds — essential for tuning door-hold duration to match your lock or automation sequence. IP65 rating means dust and direct spray won't compromise the switch, but it is not submersible. Operating temperature range is 14°F to 158°F (−10°C to 70°C). Mechanical relay lifespan is rated to 1,000,000 cycles; infrared sensor electronics are rated 100,000 hours. Install the faceplate and backbox (.062-inch die-cast aluminum) directly into a standard switch box or surface-mount per your facility design.
