STI STI-1210C Horn/Strobe Damage Stopper Open Back Box
Overview
The STI-1210C is a protective open back box enclosure designed to shield horn and strobe signaling devices from physical damage and environmental exposure. Operates on 24VDC, fits standard flush-mount audible/visual alarm appliances, and suits indoor and outdoor deployments where applicable horn/strobe units carry outdoor ratings. The Damage Stopper design complies with NEC, NFPA, and local alarm codes for notification device protection.
Compatibility
Mounts flush against existing horn/strobe appliances with 4-inch depth frame assembly. Compatible with AMSECO colored lenses (SL24W-153075 series) and other 24VDC audible/visual signaling devices using standard 8.5-inch height and 6.5-inch width mounting profiles. Integrates into 24VDC alarm control circuits and fire/intrusion notification systems.
Installation Notes
Install clamp in second notch of frame assembly. Four #10 × 1.5-inch screws (provided) secure enclosure; four #8-32 × 0.375-inch socket head cap screws (provided) lock internal components. Critical: center clear section (strobe lens opening) directly over strobe lens to prevent light transmission loss. For washdown, rainfall, or high-condensation environments, drill 0.25-inch diameter drain/weep hole as detailed in manufacturer weep hole installation diagram. NEMA 4X rating provides corrosion resistance; outdoor installation permissible only when paired horn/strobe appliance carries outdoor certification.
