STI STI-1210E Flush Mount Horn/Strobe Protective Box
The STI-1210E is an open back protective enclosure designed to shield horn and strobe notification appliances from impact damage in high-traffic environments. This flush mount back box operates at 24VDC and carries a NEMA 4X rating, meaning it resists corrosion and moisture — a requirement if your horn/strobe sits in a washdown area, outdoors, or near loading docks where physical abuse is common.
Compatibility
The STI-1210E works with STI horn and strobe devices configured for flush mount installation. The open back design allows integration into existing wall cavities or surface-mounted security and life safety systems. Compatible with AMSECO colored lenses (SL24W-153075 and variants) when paired with applicable strobe sockets.
Installation Notes
Critical installation points from the manufacturer: (1) Center the clear section (not the slots) directly over the strobe light lens to avoid light transmission loss. (2) The enclosure must be installed to comply with NEC, NFPA, and local fire codes — verify with your AHJ before mounting. (3) In washdown, rainfall, or condensation-prone locations, drill a 1/4-inch weep hole to prevent water pooling inside the box. (4) The unit may be installed outdoors only if the horn/strobe appliance itself carries an outdoor rating — do not assume the back box alone qualifies outdoor-use horns. Mount using provided clamps and #10 × 1.5-inch screws (4 count). For additional environmental protection in corrosive or extreme moisture conditions, order the SUB-121 Enviro Gasket Kit separately. Height is 8.5 inches, width 6.5 inches, and internal depth 4 inches — verify clearance in your wall cavity before ordering.
