STI STI-1221C Strobe Damage Stopper Back Box
Overview
The STI-1221C is a protective back box enclosure built to shield strobe signaling equipment from physical impact and environmental exposure in access control installations. The open back design with external mounting hardware accommodates wall and door frame installation in commercial security deployments where strobe units face repeated contact or vandalism risk. Physical dimensions are 6.5 in. width × 8.5 in. height × 3.5 in. depth — sized to fit standard strobe housings in typical security setups. This box reduces damage callbacks and extends equipment life in high-traffic entry points.
Compatibility
Designed for STI strobe systems and standard access control signaling equipment. The external mounting bracket approach works with typical commercial door frames and wall surfaces. Confirm strobe unit dimensions against the 6.5 × 8.5 × 3.5 inch cavity before ordering — oversized strobes or custom housings may require a larger variant in the STI line.
Installation Notes
Mounting uses (4) #10 × 1.5 inch head cap screws and (4) Rawl plugs (all provided). Drill pilot holes per Rawl plug specifications before fastening to masonry or concrete. The back frame may be drilled for additional wire management if environmental conditions (frequent washdowns, corrosive environments) require extra routing protection — order the optional conduit hub (SUB-122) if rigid conduit entry is needed. Standard #8-32 × 0.375 inch socket head cap screws secure internal clamps. Comply with applicable NEC, NFPA, and local electrical codes during installation. For high-moisture areas, standoff blocks (part 629763, qty 2) are included to lift the frame away from wall surface and improve drainage.
