STI STI-1221B Strobe Damage Stopper Enclosed Back Box
Overview
The STI STI-1221B is a protective back box enclosure that shields strobe signaling devices from physical impact and environmental exposure. This double-gang configuration houses strobes in access control and notification systems where recurring damage or wash-down environments demand enclosed protection. The Damage Stopper mechanism absorbs impact energy, reducing replacement cycles on high-traffic installations—critical in facilities running frequent wet-down cleaning cycles or high-pedestrian zones where accidental contact is routine.
Compatibility
Designed for standard electrical infrastructure using double-gang mounting. The STI-1221B accepts 3/4-inch rigid conduit and integrates with typical access control strobe and sounder components in commercial security and life safety notification systems. Verify your specific strobe/sounder model against STI documentation for mounting clearance before installation.
Installation Notes
Mount using the four socket head cap screws (#10 x 1.5 inches) and Rawl plugs provided. Drill four 1/4-inch holes for anchoring; internal dimensions are 8.5 inches (H) × 6.5 inches (W) × 3.5 inches (D). The frame assembly (06297B) may be drilled for added wire-access protection in high-moisture environments—order the optional Enviro Kit (SUB-122) if wash-downs are routine. Install the clamp in the designated notch to secure internal conduit. All fasteners and standoff blocks are included. Compliance with applicable NEC, NFPA, and local electrical codes is required.
