Overview
The STI-1210B is an enclosed back box designed to protect flush-mount horn/strobe signaling devices from physical damage and environmental exposure. Rated NEMA 4X, this Damage Stopper® accessory houses the appliance body while allowing the strobe lens and sound emission to function unobstructed. Deploy this when your horn/strobe installation faces splash, washdown, or casual impact risk—particularly in outdoor areas, loading docks, or high-traffic indoor corridors where the device itself needs shielding but the alarm output must remain fully audible and visible.
Compatibility
The STI-1210B accepts standard 24VDC horn/strobe appliances with flush-mount or surface-mount configurations. It is compatible with AMSECO sounder/strobe units (including SL24W-153075 and colored lens variants) and integrates into any 24VDC access control or fire alarm system that drives conventional horn/strobe outputs. Verify your appliance's mounting footprint and terminal access against the internal dimensions (6.5 in. width × 4 in. depth × 8.5 in. height) before purchase.
Installation Notes
The enclosure mounts via four provided anchors and #10 × 1.5 in. screws into a standard door frame or wall surface. Position the clear acrylic section—not the slotted cutout section—directly over the strobe lens to minimize light transmission loss. In washdown, rainfall, or condensation environments, drill a 1/4 in. (6.3 mm) weep hole at the lowest point to prevent water pooling. For additional environmental protection in harsh outdoor conditions, order the optional SUB-121 ENVIRO gasket kit. All installations must comply with applicable NEC, NFPA, and local fire/building codes. The NEMA 4X rating ensures corrosion resistance and IP66-equivalent protection, making outdoor deployment permissible when the housed appliance carries an outdoor rating.
