STI STI-1221A Enclosed Back Box Strike
Overview
The STI-1221A is a 4-inch deep enclosed back box strike assembly designed to mount in standard door frames where access control systems require strike protection and structural support. This unit provides a robust mounting solution for electric strike installations in commercial access control deployments, protecting the strike mechanism and internal wiring from damage and environmental exposure.
Compatibility
The STI-1221A mounts into standard door frame openings and integrates with electric strike systems used in multi-door access control architectures. It accommodates typical access control reader and credential systems. The 4-inch depth requirement means you'll need a minimum 4 inches of available door frame cavity — verify your frame depth before ordering. Suitable for single and multi-door installations where strike protection and integrated wiring management are required.
Installation Notes
Installation requires four #10 x 1.5-inch head cap screws and four #8-32 x 3/8-inch socket head cap screws (all provided), plus four Rawl plugs for anchoring into the frame. The assembly dimensions are 8.5 inches high, 6.5 inches wide, and 3.5 inches deep internally. The mounting frame can be drilled for additional wire access if environmental conditions require extra protection or conduit routing. Standoff blocks (two supplied) support the assembly and must be used in areas subject to frequent washdowns. Optional conduit hubs accept 3/4-inch rigid conduit. Ensure compliance with applicable NEC, NFPA, and local electrical codes before installation. The unit includes a clamp insert mechanism — insert tabs into frame slots as shown on the assembly diagram. All installation hardware is included in the box.
