Description

STI BPP2424 Polycarbonate Back Panel 24×24

Overview

The STI BPP2424 is a 24×24 inch polycarbonate back panel designed to shield access control readers, strike hardware, and manual call points from environmental exposure and physical damage. The transparent polycarbonate construction allows visibility of protected devices while blocking UV degradation, moisture intrusion, and accidental or intentional impact — a practical necessity in facilities where readers and hardware face weather, humidity, or foot traffic abuse. Operates at 9VDC, integrating directly into standard access control power architectures.

Compatibility

Fits STI-brand access control systems requiring protective backing or mounting surfaces. The 24-inch form factor aligns with standard commercial reader and strike hardware layouts. Suitable for both interior installations (high-traffic corridors, loading docks, break rooms) and exterior exposures (covered entries, canopies, weathered facade locations). Compatible with wall-mounted access control readers, electric strikes, and manual call points across the STI product line.

Installation Notes

Installation requires four fixing holes drilled using a 7mm masonry drill bit. Position the back panel frame over the device, mark the four fixing points, drill, and secure with provided wall fixings. For weathered locations, position the gasket over the device before securing the frame to create a sealed barrier against moisture. For surface installations, use provided spacer inserts to blank off unused cable entry holes. Cable gaskets must be selected and installed per the wiring system in use — this prevents water ingress at termination points.
