The STI STI-9641 is a steel-frame protective cage designed to shield emergency light fixtures from accidental impact and collision damage in access-controlled environments. This standalone guard mounts directly over ceiling-mounted emergency lighting, preventing foot traffic, ladders, or maintenance equipment from striking and disabling the light fixture — a real problem in corridors and stairwells where emergency egress lighting must remain operational. The STI-9641 fits standard emergency light housings in North American facilities and installs without modification to the ceiling structure or existing electrical systems.
The STI-9641 works with most ceiling-mounted emergency light fixtures in standard commercial buildings. The cage frame dimensions (16.57 in. × 16.25 in. × 14.47 in.) accommodate typical recessed and surface-mount emergency lighting. Verify fixture size against the product dimensions before ordering — the cage must clear the light body while the mounting points must align with available ceiling anchoring locations. Compatible across hospitality, healthcare, office, retail, and warehouse facilities using conventional exit signage and emergency lighting systems.
Mount using the six included #10 anchors and Phillips pan-head screws (1.5 in.). Drill six 1/4-inch-diameter holes 1.5 inches deep into the ceiling structure at marked locations; insert anchors, position the cage, then drive screws tight. A cordless drill, 1/4-inch drill bit, and pencil are the only tools required. Installation takes approximately 15–20 minutes per fixture. Do not install over electrical conduit or active wiring without first confirming clearance — the cage is purely protective, not an electrical enclosure. No special skills or certifications required.
