Overview
The STI-9881 is a protective cage assembly for fluorescent lighting fixtures designed to prevent vandalism and accidental damage in controlled indoor environments. Constructed from plastic-coated 9-gauge galvanized steel rod, this cage mounts flush over standard twin-tube fluorescent assemblies and absorbs impact from contact without compromising fixture operation. Deploy this where continuous lighting is critical to security monitoring or facility access control—offices, corridors, controlled areas—and where light fixture outages create operational gaps.
Compatibility
The STI-9881 accommodates the majority of standard fluorescent lighting fixtures via adjustable mounting brackets. Two length variants cover the range: 1200–1500mm and 1800–2400mm, making it suitable for both compact wall-mounted and larger ceiling-mounted assemblies. Twin-tube fluorescent configurations are the primary target. Confirm your fixture length before ordering; the cage is designed to clamp over the perimeter of the housing without interference to ballast or wiring access.
Installation Notes
Mount is flush and requires drilling (10) holes at 6.3mm (0.25 inch) diameter through the fixture housing or mounting surface. Hardware supplied includes (10) rawl plugs, (10) fixing screws (10×1.5), (2) single-clamp brackets, and (2) double-clamp brackets. Installation takes approximately 30–45 minutes per fixture and requires a hand drill and standard drivers. Position the cage centrally over the fitting before marking holes; offset mounting will cause binding or incomplete contact at clamp points. Not rated for outdoor or wet environments; restrict use to temperature-controlled interior spaces.
