Overview
The STI-9880 is a flush-mounted fluorescent lighting cage designed to protect standard fixtures from vandalism and accidental damage in controlled indoor environments. Constructed from 9-gauge galvanized steel rod with plastic coating, the cage absorbs impact and abuse without compromising fixture operation or light output. This is the right choice when you need to keep fluorescent lighting intact in high-traffic or high-risk interior areas — retail floors, corridors, security vestibules, or access control entry points where fixtures are exposed to contact or deliberate damage.
Compatibility
The STI-9880 accommodates twin-tube fluorescent assemblies and adjusts between 1200–1500 mm in length, making it suitable for standard recessed or surface-mounted fixtures in most commercial buildings. The cage comes pre-drilled and includes all necessary brackets, clamps, and fasteners for installation over existing fluorescent fittings. No custom modification required — the two-part design allows field adjustment to match your specific fixture length.
Installation Notes
Installation requires drilling 10 holes (6.3 mm diameter) into the ceiling or mounting surface. The package includes 10 Rawl plugs (0.25 in), 10 fixing screws (10 × 1.5), 2 double clamps, and 8 single clamps. Position the cage centrally over the fixture, mark drill holes per the installation diagram provided, and secure using the supplied fasteners. Total installation time is typically 15–30 minutes per fixture. Do not use outdoors — the cage is rated for controlled interior environments only.
