STI STI-9644 Emergency Light Damage Stopper
Overview
The STI-9644 is a wire protective cage designed to shield emergency lighting fixtures from accidental or intentional damage in high-traffic facilities. It mounts directly to wall or ceiling surfaces using six 1/4-inch anchors and Phillips pan-head screws, protecting exit signage and emergency lights in corridors, stairwells, and critical egress routes where equipment tampering or impact is a risk. The cage remains transparent enough to allow emergency lighting function while creating a physical barrier that discourages damage.
Compatibility
The STI-9644 is compatible with standard emergency lighting fixtures mounted in commercial buildings, educational facilities, healthcare installations, and public access areas. It integrates into existing door frame assemblies and access control installations where coordinated emergency system protection is required. The unit works within building codes mandating functional emergency egress lighting, including NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code) and IBC compliance scenarios.
Installation Notes
Installation requires drilling six 1/4-inch-diameter holes to a depth of 1.5 inches. The STI-9644 ships with six #10 plastic anchors and six #10 x 1.5-inch Phillips pan-head screws. Center the cage over the fixture, mark all six hole locations with pencil, drill using a 1/4-inch bit, insert anchors, position the cage, then tighten all six screws. The cage is approximately 16.57 inches wide × 16.25 inches tall (depth 14.47 inches). No specialized tools beyond a standard drill and Phillips screwdriver are required.
