STI STI-9707 Beam Smoke Damage Stopper Surface Mount Controller
Overview
The STI STI-9707 is a protective wire guard and surface mount controller assembly designed to shield System Sensor beam smoke detector units from accidental or intentional damage in industrial and commercial environments. This guard mounts directly to existing surface-mounted electrical conduit systems and fits any of twelve standard anchor locations on compatible beam units. The primary deployment scenario is retrofit or new-build fire safety installations where the beam transmitter and reflective mirror require impact protection without requiring full system relocation or conduit rerouting.
Compatibility
The STI-9707 is designed for System Sensor beam smoke detection systems with surface-mount electrical conduit infrastructure. It accommodates existing flush-mount anchor holes and fits standard beam unit locations without modification to the underlying detection system. The guard works with transmitter and reflective mirror assemblies that have been aligned and tested per System Sensor installation directions before guard installation.
Installation Notes
Mount using the four (4) provided H19020 clamps and four (4) #10 × 1.5 inch screws. The guard can be installed on the side or top and bottom of the beam unit, depending on space constraints and mounting surface orientation. Do not install the reflective beam guard until the transmitter and reflective mirror have been perfectly aligned and tested according to System Sensor detector installation directions. Periodic cleaning of the beam smoke guard is required to prevent dust and debris buildup that may affect detector sensitivity. To service the underlying System Sensor unit, back off the four screws, rotate the clamps, and carefully remove the wire guard; reinstall in the same orientation.
