The Viking Electronics K-1775-3 is an all-in-one vandal-resistant entry phone combining a color analog video camera, 125 KHz proximity card reader, and a heavy-duty keypad in a single 14-gauge 316 stainless steel faceplate. Designed for apartment buildings, commercial lobbies, and secured access points where a single surface device must handle intercom, video surveillance, and credential-based access simultaneously — eliminating the need for separate reader and camera installations. The K-1775-3 installs flush with the included rough-in box (4.5" x 5.5" x 2.5") or surface-mounts with an optional VE-6x7 enclosure, giving integrators flexibility on retrofit and new-construction jobs alike. Maximum wire run from the entry phone to the head-end is 1,000 feet over standard tip-and-ring wiring using gel-filled connectors — appropriate for mid-rise residential runs without additional infrastructure.
The K-1775-3 is designed for use within the Viking Electronics entry phone ecosystem. It pairs with Viking telephone-line-powered door controllers and analog intercom master stations. The proximity card reader outputs standard 26-bit Wiegand format at 125 KHz — compatible with the vast majority of commercial access control panels that accept Wiegand input, including common HID and CASI-RUSCO compatible readers. The analog color camera (420 lines, 6–22V DC) connects to any analog video monitor or DVR that accepts composite NTSC input — it is not an IP camera and does not output RTSP or ONVIF streams. Surface mount installations require the separately ordered VE-6x7 enclosure; this is not included. Review your video intercom system architecture before specifying: VoIP or SIP deployments require the K-1775-IP series instead.
Power splits across two circuits: the proximity card reader draws 5–14V DC at up to 60mA, and the camera requires 6–22V DC at 150mA — both must be provisioned separately from the telephone line feed. The unit is rated IP66 with EWP (Extreme Weather Protection) handling up to 100% condensing humidity, making it suitable for covered exterior vestibules and exposed entry alcoves. Operating temperature range is -30°F to 150°F for the main unit; the camera subsystem is rated -40°F to 140°F. Wiring terminates via gel-filled tip-and-ring connectors — no punch-down block required. Overall installed depth is 2.6"; verify rough-in cavity depth before ordering to avoid conflict with conduit stubs. For IP-based intercom deployments, this analog unit is not a direct substitute — plan accordingly during system design.
