Description

Viking Electronics K-1770-3 Stainless Steel Handsfree Entry Phone with Keypad and Proximity Card Reader

Overview

The Viking Electronics K-1770-3 is a telephone-line-powered, handsfree entry phone built for commercial and institutional access points where both keypad entry and proximity card readers are required at a single station. Constructed from 14-gauge louvered 316 stainless steel — marine-grade alloy that resists pitting in coastal and high-humidity environments — the K-1770-3 is engineered for vestibules, parking structures, loading docks, and perimeter gates that see heavy daily traffic and deliberate abuse. Because it draws power from the telephone line itself, there is no need to run a separate power circuit to the door station, which simplifies conduit planning in retrofits. Operating range of -30°F to 150°F covers both northern outdoor winters and sun-exposed southern exposures without supplemental heating or cooling. The Viking Electronics entry phone line pairs this unit with compatible access control panels and PBX systems for a fully integrated front-door solution.

Compatibility

The built-in 125KHz, 26-bit Wiegand proximity card reader integrates directly with any access control panel or controller accepting standard 26-bit Wiegand data — the dominant format across HID, Farpointe, and most third-party 125KHz credential ecosystems. The K-1770-3 is listed as compatible with the K-1770-3-EWP variant (adds IP66 ingress protection and condensing-humidity board protection up to 100% RH) and the K-1770-3-BN bronze finish variant for aesthetic-sensitive installs. Surface mounting is supported via the optional VE-6x7 surface-mount box; flush mounting uses the included rough-in box (4.5
