Overview

The K-1775-3-BN-EWP is a telephone-line-powered entry phone that combines two-way audio, analog color video, a keypad, and a 125KHz proximity card reader in a single oil rubbed bronze faceplate. It fits controlled-entry deployments — residential lobbies, small commercial buildings, and secure vestibules — where you need audio, visual confirmation, and card-based access control without running a separate power circuit. The unit flushes into the included rough-in box or surface-mounts with an optional Viking VE-6x7 enclosure. Enhanced Weather Protection (EWP) seals the entire assembly to IP66, so rain, dust, and washing won't compromise the electronics. Speaker output reaches 70 dB at 1 meter — enough to cut through ambient lobby or loading dock noise without a separate amplifier.

Compatibility

Designed for use within the Viking Electronics K-1775-3 Series entry phone ecosystem. The proximity reader outputs 26-bit Wiegand, which integrates directly with access control panels from Lenel, CCURE, Honeywell Pro-Watch, Bosch, and any panel accepting standard 26-bit Wiegand input — no converter required. The analog NTSC color camera output (420 lines horizontal, 80° FOV) connects to any analog video input on a DVR or dedicated video intercom monitor; it is not an IP stream and does not connect directly to an NVR without an encoder. Audio and power run over a single CAT5e cable, eliminating dedicated home-run cabling for power. The 26-bit Wiegand card reader is compatible with standard 125KHz proximity credentials — HID Prox, EM4100-format cards and fobs — but will not read 13.56MHz MIFARE or DESFire cards. Pair with a access control system that accepts Wiegand input. For surface mounting, the Viking VE-6x7 enclosure is required (sold separately).

Installation Notes

Flush mount using the included rough-in box (4.5" x 5.5" x 2.5"); the overall faceplate measures 5.5" x 6.5" x 2.6". Operating temperature range is -30°F to 150°F (-34°C to 66°C); the camera subsystem is rated to -40°F, so cold-climate installs are covered. EWP units are rated to 100% condensing humidity and IP66 — suitable for covered exterior entrances but not submerged or high-pressure wash applications. The faceplate is 14-gauge 316 marine-grade stainless steel with security screws — use the appropriate security bit driver during install to avoid cam-out damage. Card read range is 1.25" to 2.0", so credential holders must present cards close to the reader face; mounting height and reader orientation matter for ADA compliance at exterior applications. CPC disconnect time is 500ms minimum; REN load is 0.5A on the telephone line.
