Description

Vertiv SN-TH Modular Temperature and Humidity Sensor

Overview

The Vertiv SN-TH is a single modular temperature and humidity sensor designed for data center and network closet environments where precise climate monitoring is non-negotiable. It draws power directly through the communications cable — no separate power supply, no additional wiring runs — which keeps installation clean in already-dense equipment spaces. The SN-TH connects to Vertiv monitoring platforms as a plug-in expansion point, making it the right choice when you're building out or extending environmental monitoring on an existing Vertiv infrastructure.

Compatibility

The SN-TH integrates directly with Vertiv Unity and RPC2 platforms. These are the only confirmed compatible systems based on manufacturer data — do not assume compatibility with other Vertiv controllers without verifying your specific unit's sensor port support. If you're deploying across a rack row monitored by environmental monitoring equipment, confirm the host unit supports the modular sensor bus before ordering multiples. For broader Vertiv sensor and accessory options, see the Vertiv catalog.

Installation Notes

The SN-TH ships with a bracket and cable tie for flexible placement — mount it to a rack rail with the supplied bracket for a fixed position, or use the cable tie to secure it where bracket access is limited. Its compact footprint (2 in W × 1.625 in H × 0.75 in D, 0.25 lb) means it fits in tight rack spaces without displacing adjacent gear. Operating range is 41 to 131°F (10 to 95% RH), which covers standard conditioned data center environments but rules it out for unconditioned outdoor enclosures or spaces that routinely exceed those bounds — plan your power and infrastructure layout accordingly. Power is sourced entirely through the communications cable, so no AC outlet or PoE port is consumed at the sensor location. Position the sensor away from direct airflow from CRAC units or blanking panel gaps — ambient reading accuracy depends on representative air sampling, not point-source drafts.
