Description

Vertiv SN-3C Three Dry Contact Modular Sensor

Overview

The Vertiv SN-3C is a modular dry contact sensor that adds three discrete input channels to compatible Vertiv environmental monitoring systems. Bus-powered through the communications cable — no separate power wiring required — it's sized for tight installations at 2 in × 1.625 in × 0.75 in and weighs only 0.25 lb. Deploy the SN-3C when you need to monitor third-party contact-closure devices (door switches, leak detectors, generator run contacts, or custom alarm inputs) and feed those states into a centralized Vertiv monitoring platform without adding power infrastructure. The three dry contact channels mean a single SN-3C can consolidate multiple perimeter or equipment-state inputs on one drop.

Compatibility

The SN-3C integrates directly with Vertiv Unity and RPC2 platforms. Confirm your Unity or RPC2 unit has an available sensor bus port before ordering — the SN-3C communicates and draws power exclusively over that bus. It is not compatible with third-party environmental monitoring controllers or generic SNMP traps without a Unity or RPC2 host.

Installation Notes

Mount using the supplied bracket for rack-rail or enclosure attachment, or use a cable tie for surface or bundle mounting where a bracket isn't practical. The operating environment is rated 41°F to 131°F (5°C to 55°C) — keep this in mind for installations near heat sources or in unconditioned spaces that can spike above 131°F in summer. Power is drawn entirely through the sensor communications cable, so no local power tap is required; route and dress the cable to avoid strain on the connector. No tools beyond standard rack hardware are specified for bracket attachment.
