The FDX60M1B is an industrial-grade fiber optic transceiver that converts RS232, RS422, and RS485 serial data into fiber-optic signals for extended reach surveillance and security installations. It handles DC-to-250 kbps data rates across either multimode (4 km/2.5 miles) or single-mode fiber (69 km/43 miles) using dual-wavelength laser emitters (1310/1550 nm), making it the right choice when you need to bridge control signals, sensor data, or device communications across distances that exceed twisted-pair copper limits — particularly in electrically noisy environments, RF-congested areas, or installations where galvanic isolation is a hard requirement.

Compatibility

The FDX60M1B works with any surveillance, access control, or industrial system that outputs or ingests RS232, RS422, or RS485 serial data. Common pairings include gate controllers, card reader interfaces, PTZ camera control chains, third-party sensor systems, and backbone links between distant NVRs or DVRs that lack native fiber connectivity. Because it operates at the serial protocol level, it is agnostic to the control system above it — Axis, Hikvision, Milestone, Genetec, and proprietary surveillance platforms all function identically once the fiber link is established.
