Description

Vertiv VP4NC2A0 Monitored Horizontal Rack PDU

Overview

The VP4NC2A0 is a unit-level monitored rack PDU rated for 100A at 277/480V WYE (66.4kW), designed for high-density data center rows and colocation cabinets where three-phase 480V WYE power distribution is the standard infrastructure. At 1U horizontal form factor (3.4 in H × 17.1 in W × 12 in D), it mounts cleanly in standard 19-inch rack horizontal positions without consuming vertical space reserved for active compute. Unit-level monitoring means you get per-PDU current and power visibility without the cost of outlet-level metering — the right tradeoff for environments where row-level capacity planning matters more than per-port granularity. The 15 Saf-D-Grid Series 400 output positions provide a safety-locking connection that prevents accidental disconnection under load — a meaningful operational detail when racking high-draw servers in live environments.

Compatibility

Designed for data center cabinets and enclosures wired for three-phase 277/480V WYE service — commonly found in purpose-built colo facilities and enterprise machine rooms with dedicated electrical infrastructure. Output is 277V, suitable for equipment with IEC or Saf-D-Grid Series 400 compatible power inputs. Pairs with Vertiv VR, VRA, and SmartCabinet rack enclosures that support horizontal PDU mounting rails. Confirm your facility's input breaker and whip connector are rated for 100A three-phase WYE before installation; the VP4NC2A0 does not include input cable or whip.

Installation Notes

Mounts horizontally in a standard 1U rack position. Unit weight is 31 lbs — factor this into rack load calculations, particularly in fully populated high-density configurations. Output connections use Saf-D-Grid Series 400 locking connectors; verify load equipment ships with or supports compatible Saf-D-Grid plugs. Input feed requires a 100A three-phase 277/480V WYE source with appropriate overcurrent protection upstream.
