Description

Vertiv VP4NC0A0 Monitored Unit-Level Vertical PDU

Overview

The VP4NC0A0 is a unit-level monitored vertical rack PDU rated at 100A, designed for high-density 3-phase data center deployments running 277/480V WYE power distribution. At 66.4kW capacity, it handles the power demands of modern AI-compute racks, high-density blade server bays, and dense GPU clusters that standard 208V PDUs cannot serve. The 72-inch vertical form factor installs along the rear or side of the rack without consuming a single rack unit, preserving all usable 1U slots for compute. Unit-level monitoring means you get per-PDU current and power data — enough visibility to track load balancing across the cabinet without the added cost of outlet-level instrumentation.

Compatibility

The VP4NC0A0 is engineered for facilities delivering 277/480V WYE 3-phase power — common in purpose-built enterprise and colocation data centers wired to NEC Article 647 or equivalent. The 30 outlets use the Saf-D-Grid Series 400 connector standard, which requires Saf-D-Grid–compatible server power supplies or whip adapters; standard IEC C13/C19 equipment does not plug in directly. Confirm your IT load uses Saf-D-Grid receptacle compatibility or provision the appropriate adapter whips before ordering. Pairs with Vertiv's Geist-branded monitoring infrastructure and is compatible with Vertiv's TRELLIS and Environet Alert DCIM platforms for facility-level power visibility.

Installation Notes

At 31 lbs and 72 inches in depth, the VP4NC0A0 requires two-person installation for safe vertical mounting. Input feed is a 100A 277/480V WYE branch circuit — verify your floor PDU or busway tap is rated accordingly before commissioning. Output voltage is 277V line-to-neutral; this is not a step-down transformer unit. Confirm downstream equipment is rated for 277V input. Vertical mounting orientation is fixed — this unit is not rated for horizontal deployment.
