Description

Vertiv VP4NA0A4 Monitored Unit-Level Vertical PDU

Overview

The VP4NA0A4 is a vertical, unit-level monitored power distribution unit rated for 80A at 277/480V WYE, delivering up to 66.4kW of monitored capacity in a single rack-mount form factor. At 72 inches deep with a 2.5 x 3 inch cross-section, it installs vertically in standard data center cabinets where horizontal PDU real estate is limited or where high-density three-phase power distribution is required. Unit-level monitoring means you get per-PDU current and load visibility — useful in high-density compute rows where aggregate cabinet load management matters.

Compatibility

The VP4NA0A4 is designed for deployment in data center power distribution environments requiring 277/480V WYE three-phase input — typical in North American facilities running 480V infrastructure from a step-down transformer. The 18 Vertiv Saf-D-Grid Series 400 outlets are finger-safe, tool-free locking connectors suited for high-density server and network equipment installations. Saf-D-Grid Series 400 receptacles require compatible Saf-D-Grid plugs on connected equipment or power cords — verify cord sets are ordered separately with the correct Series 400 plug configuration before deployment. This unit is not compatible with standard NEMA receptacle loads without an appropriate adapter or cord set.

Installation Notes

Vertical orientation requires a standard two-post or four-post open-frame rack or enclosed server cabinet with sufficient vertical clearance for the 72-inch length. At 20 lbs, two-person installation is advisable. Input feed is 80A at 277/480V WYE — confirm your facility's branch circuit breaker and whip are sized and rated accordingly before commissioning. The 277V output voltage at each Saf-D-Grid outlet is phase-to-neutral; connected loads must be rated for 277V AC input. No NEMA-twist or IEC outlets are present — cord set compatibility planning is a prerequisite, not an afterthought.
