Description

Vertiv VP1UA0A1 Basic Upgradeable 80A Vertical Rack PDU

Overview

The Vertiv VP1UA0A1 is a 0U vertical rack power distribution unit from the PowerIT Basic series, delivering 80A at 240/415V WYE with a hardwired input and 57.6kW total capacity. Designed for high-density data center and network room racks where horizontal PDU space is scarce, the VP1UA0A1 mounts vertically inside the rack cabinet and keeps all 36 outlets accessible without consuming a rack unit. The 'upgradeable' designation means the IMD (Intelligent Monitoring Device) is hot-swappable — you can start with basic metering and upgrade to a networked monitoring module later without powering down the PDU or the connected equipment. Remote monitoring is supported via network interface and serial connection, making this suitable for managed colocation bays, enterprise server rooms, and any deployment where out-of-band power visibility matters.

Compatibility

The 36 combination C13/C19 outlets accommodate both standard C14-plug 1U servers (drawing via C13) and high-draw C20-plug equipment (drawing via C19) without adapter cables — practical in mixed-load racks running servers, storage arrays, and networking gear side by side. The hardwired input is designed for permanent installation fed from a 3-phase 240/415V WYE distribution panel; verify your rack's breaker rating and panel capacity before commissioning. P-Lock cable retention is supported, reducing accidental disconnects on high-vibration or high-traffic floor installations. High-retention color-coded outlets help technicians visually distinguish circuit assignments at a glance in dense multi-PDU deployments. This PDU is dual-listed UL and CE, making it deployable in both North American and European data center environments. RoHS compliance covers restricted-substance requirements for sites with environmental procurement mandates.

Installation Notes

Mounting is 0U vertical — the PDU occupies zero rack units but requires vertical mounting channels or a dedicated 0U bracket space on the rack side rail. Dimensions of 3.8
