Description

Viking Electronics K-1500P-D No-Dial Desk Telephone Ringer

Overview

The Viking Electronics K-1500P-D is a no-keypad, telephone-line-powered desk phone designed for single-purpose alert and intercom ring stations — lobbies, reception desks, guard booths, and industrial call points where outbound dialing is not needed. Because it draws power directly from the telephone line, the K-1500P-D requires no external power supply or PoE infrastructure, simplifying wiring in locations where AC or data runs are impractical. The built-in ringer reaches 80 dB SPL at 1 meter — loud enough to cut through moderate ambient noise in open office or light industrial environments. The hearing-aid-compatible handset includes volume control, meeting ADA telephony accessibility requirements without additional adapters. An ash-color variant is available as model K-1500P-D ASH for installations where the standard finish does not match décor.

Compatibility

The K-1500P-D connects to any standard POTS analog telephone line or analog telephone adapter (ATA) port. It integrates with Viking Electronics access control dialers, door controllers, and entry systems that present an analog FXS interface. Compatible with standard analog intercom systems and PBX analog station ports — verify the FXS port presents standard loop-start signaling. FCC Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) is 0.3, so the K-1500P-D imposes minimal load; you can add multiple units on a single line without degrading ring voltage, provided the total REN stays within the carrier's line limit (typically 5.0 REN). Not compatible with digital station ports, VoIP endpoints requiring SIP registration, or two-wire RS-485 intercom buses without an intervening ATA.

Installation Notes

Desk mount footprint is 9.0" x 8.25" x 4.75" (230 mm x 210 mm x 120 mm); wall-mount configuration measures 102 mm x 121 mm x 229 mm — confirm clearance before committing cable routing. Unit weighs 3 lbs (1.36 kg). Operating range is 32°F to 90°F (0°C to 32°C) with 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity — suitable for conditioned indoor spaces only; do not deploy in unheated enclosures or high-moisture areas without supplemental environmental control. The paging and intercom category includes compatible ring systems and line-powered accessories if you need to expand this installation. For multi-station deployments, review VoIP phone options if SIP integration is a future requirement.
