The ACTi B26 is a 3MP zoom box camera designed for fixed-position surveillance where extended optical reach is non-negotiable — parking facilities, retail perimeters, logistics yards, and campus monitoring. The 36x optical zoom (4.6–165.6 mm focal length) means you can capture detail across wide areas without pixel starvation that plagues digital zoom. WDR processing handles mixed lighting (bright sky against dark recesses) without oversaturation artifacts. Minimum illumination of 0.003 lux in color mode keeps the B26 useful well into twilight; switch to B/W and you drop to 0.002 lux. IP66 rating withstands high-pressure water jets and dust — real outdoor durability, not marketing language. The B26 draws power via PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at Class 3), so a single Ethernet run handles both data and supply; if your infrastructure lacks PoE, 12V DC input is available. The form factor is a compact box mount, fitting pole, corner, and rack installations without architectural compromise. Operating range of –20°C to 50°C keeps thermal shutdown risk low across seasons.

Compression, Streaming, and Analytics

Video encoding: H.265 Adaptive Stream, H.264 (Baseline/Main/High), and MJPEG all supported simultaneously across triple concurrent streams. This flexibility means legacy VMS systems can pull MJPEG while new systems consume H.265 from the same camera without conflict. Bitrate spans 128 Kbps to 12 Mbps (constant or variable), so you tune storage against detail. Onboard analytics include Video Motion Detection, People Counting, and Smoke Detection — all edge-computed, no external server required. Two-way audio (line-in/line-out) supports intercoms or alarm integration. ONVIF compliance (Profile S, G, T, M) ensures compatibility across VMS platforms. Control via Visca, Pelco-D, Pelco-P, or ACTi URL commands — no proprietary lock-in.

The B26 integrates into any ONVIF-compliant VMS ecosystem — Milestone, Axis Camera Station, and third-party platforms recognize it without custom drivers. 12V DC and PoE+ power options mean retrofit into existing surveillance infrastructure (DC wiring already in place) or new PoE-switched deployments.
