i-PRO WJ-VPU4000 Standalone NVR
Overview
The i-PRO WJ-VPU4000 is a purpose-built standalone network video recorder designed for professional IP surveillance deployments where you need dedicated recording infrastructure without server-based VMS overhead. This compact appliance consolidates video management software, recording engine, and playback capabilities into a single unit, delivering enterprise-grade reliability and straightforward administration for multi-camera environments. The WJ-VPU4000 provides flexible recording modes—continuous 24/7 baseline capture, motion-triggered modes to conserve storage, or hybrid profiles combining both strategies—all managed through a responsive web interface supporting desktop and mobile access.
Note: This model has been discontinued by i-PRO. Pre-sales engineering is available to discuss migration pathways if you are evaluating alternatives.
Compatibility
The WJ-VPU4000 supports ONVIF Profile S and T compliance, meaning it works with IP cameras from all major manufacturers—Axis, Hikvision, Dahua, Uniview, Hanwha, and others shipping ONVIF-compliant cameras. If your deployment uses a mixed-brand camera environment, ONVIF S/T guarantees baseline interoperability without vendor lock-in. Backward compatibility with existing i-PRO and third-party camera infrastructure is preserved across the supported feature set.
Recording and Video Management
The embedded recording engine delivers motion detection with user-configurable sensitivity zones and scene change alerts to prevent false triggers. Alarm-linked capture ensures critical incidents are logged automatically. Scheduled recording profiles allow time-based policies—for example, continuous nights and weekends with motion-only during business hours. Camera tampering detection adds oversight without requiring per-camera analytics licensing. All recording parameters, playback functions, and live monitoring are controlled via the web interface.
