Description

ATEN VE2812AT HDBaseT Transmitter

Overview

The ATEN VE2812AT is a HDBaseT transmitter designed to extend HDMI, VGA, audio, IR, and serial signals over a single Cat5e/6 cable. This unit is ideal for extending AV signals in commercial installations where multiple cable runs are impractical. It supports Power over HDBaseT (PoH), allowing it to power compatible receivers, simplifying installation by eliminating the need for a separate power supply at the receiver end. The VE2812AT includes IR and serial ports for control signal extension, crucial for integrating AV equipment with automation systems.

Compatibility

This transmitter is compatible with ATEN's HDBaseT receivers that support simultaneous transmission of HDMI, VGA, audio, IR, and serial data. It is designed to work with specific ATEN receiver models that accept PoH power. Verify receiver compatibility to ensure full functionality, especially for PoH power delivery and control signal pass-through.

Installation Notes

The VE2812AT supports signal extension up to 10 meters for VGA/HDB-15 and 3 meters for HDMI. It operates within a humidity range of 0-80% RH (non-condensing). Power can be supplied via a locking DC jack or through the RJ-45 port if the connected receiver supports Power over HDBaseT (PoH). Firmware upgrades are managed via a slide switch, requiring manual intervention to enable or disable the upgrade mode.
