Overview
The ATEN VE3912T is a multi-input HDBaseT transmitter designed to extend video signals from DisplayPort, HDMI, or VGA sources over a single Cat 6a cable. It's engineered for scenarios where you need to consolidate multiple video inputs and transmit them to a compatible HDBaseT receiver across a room or between floors. This device is ideal for conference rooms, lecture halls, or digital signage deployments where flexible input selection and extended reach are critical. The VE3912T supports video resolutions up to 4K@30Hz for HDMI and DisplayPort inputs, and 1920x1600 for VGA. It also passes through IR signals, allowing remote control of the source device.
Compatibility
This transmitter is designed to work with ATEN HDBaseT receivers, such as the VE3912R. It accepts input from standard HDMI Type A, DisplayPort, and Mini Stereo Jack (for VGA audio) sources. For transmission, it requires a Cat 6a cable and a compatible HDBaseT receiver. The device supports Power over HDBaseT (PoH) from the receiver, meaning it can be powered by the receiver unit, simplifying installation. Ensure your source devices provide standard HDMI, DisplayPort, or VGA outputs.
Installation Notes
The VE3912T supports two power input methods: a locking DC jack or Power over HDBaseT (PoH) via the RJ-45 connector when paired with a PoH-capable receiver. For optimal performance, use Cat 6a cable for transmission distances up to 10m for VGA or 5m for HDMI/DisplayPort at their respective resolutions. The operating humidity range is 0–80% RH, non-condensing. Firmware upgrades are managed via a slide switch, allowing for easy updates without complex procedures.
