This unit connects to a 4K HDMI source and pushes signal over structured Cat cable to a paired HDBaseT receiver — eliminating the need for HDMI runs beyond 3 meters. The VE814AT-ATA connects to your HDMI source device via its HDMI Type A Female port, and the DC jack with locking connector ensures the power supply stays seated in rack or AV furniture deployments. If your deployment requires Ethernet pass-through alongside HDMI signal extension, look to the VE814AT-AT variant instead — that model adds the RJ-45 Ethernet function this unit intentionally omits.

Compatibility

The VE814AT-ATA is the transmitter half of the ATEN VE814A HDBaseT extender system. It pairs with the VE814AR receiver unit. Signal reach depends on cable selection: Cat5e or Cat6 delivers 4K up to 70 meters; Cat6a or ATEN's own 2L-2910 Cat6 cable pushes that to 100 meters. At 1080p, all Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a runs support the full 100-meter span — useful when legacy cabling is already in place. Supported 4K formats include 4096×2160 and 3840×2160 at 60Hz (4:2:0) and 30Hz (4:4:4). This transmitter is not a standalone device — it requires a compatible HDBaseT extender receiver to complete the signal path. The RJ-45 port on this unit is non-functional for Ethernet; it is present on the hardware but inactive — only the VE814AT-AT variant supports Ethernet pass-through.
