Overview
The ATEN VE882 is an optic fiber extender designed to transmit HD video and audio signals over extended distances, specifically up to 1980 feet (approx. 600 meters), utilizing a single fiber optic cable. This unit is ideal for deployments where standard copper cabling is insufficient due to distance limitations, such as large campus environments, industrial facilities, or broadcast studios. It supports a maximum input resolution of 1366 x 768 @ 60 Hz and includes an RS-232 channel for pass-through communication, enabling control or data transmission alongside video. The VE882 is intended for use in point-to-point extension scenarios where signal integrity over distance is paramount.
Compatibility
The VE882 is designed to work with ATEN's VE882T transmitter unit (sold separately) to form a complete extension system. It is compatible with video sources outputting 1366 x 768 @ 60 Hz. The RS-232 pass-through functionality requires a compatible RS-232 device and cable connected to the terminal block.
Installation Notes
The VE882 operates within a humidity range of 0-80% RH, non-condensing. It requires a 5V DC power input via a DC jack. The RS-232 channel uses a 3-pole terminal block for wiring. For rack-mount configurations, be aware that dimensions may be expressed in LxWxH format.
