Description

Geovision 140-POE0810-G08 8-Port PoE Gigabit Switch

Overview

The 140-POE0810-G08 is an 8-port Gigabit Ethernet switch that combines data connectivity and power delivery in a single unit. It eliminates separate power supplies at each camera location by delivering both PoE+ (802.3at) power and Gigabit network speed through the same cable. With a 130W total PoE budget and maximum 122W per IEEE 802.3at allocation, this switch handles small-to-medium surveillance deployments—retail floors, office lobbies, warehouse entry points—where you need to consolidate power infrastructure and reduce cable runs.

Compatibility

Works with any standards-compliant IP camera or powered network device that accepts PoE or PoE+ (802.3af or 802.3at). This includes Geovision IP cameras and third-party models from Axis, Hikvision, Dahua, Uniview, and others that draw under 30W per port. Each Gigabit port supports full 1000BaseT throughput, so video bandwidth is not the constraint—power draw at each camera is. If a single camera exceeds 30W, that port will not reliably deliver both power and data; verify camera datasheets before ordering.

Installation Notes

Desktop form factor fits on a shelf, table, or thin rack mount. Use standard Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cables from your network uplink to each camera location. No separate power supply needed at remote camera sites—only network cable. The switch itself requires AC power via the included adapter. Compact footprint means tight spacing is possible, but ensure airflow around the unit during extended operation; the 130W budget generates heat under full load.
