Description

Geovision 84-FR20200-0010 IP PTZ Camera Cable

Overview

The 84-FR20200-0010 is a dedicated IP PTZ camera cable purpose-built for the Geovision GV-FR2020 face recognition reader and PTZ system. It runs power and network data over a single Ethernet run using PoE (802.3af), eliminating the need for separate power cabling at the camera or reader end. At 328 feet (100 meters), it handles longer retrofit runs without voltage drop concerns — critical when rewiring existing access control installations or integrating PTZ heads into distributed facial recognition deployments.

Compatibility

This cable is explicitly designed for the Geovision GV-FR2020 PTZ camera and face recognition system. It works with Geovision GV-POE switches configured for mid-span PoE power delivery only — not compatible with end-span injectors. When paired with a GV-AS Controller and GV-ASManager software, the GV-FR2020 operates in Face Recognition mode, Card + Face, or Password + Face combinations. Before purchase, verify your PoE switch is mid-span type; end-span architecture will not work with this cable.

Installation Notes

Run the cable directly from your Geovision mid-span PoE switch to the GV-FR2020 unit. Standard Ethernet installation practices apply — avoid sharp bends, use proper strain relief, and respect the 328-foot maximum run to maintain voltage integrity. The cable delivers up to 15.4W at the source per 802.3af spec; confirm your switch port has sufficient power budget for the camera and any auxiliary loads such as heaters, wipers, or IR illuminators on the PTZ head. If your installation requires longer distances, reconsider the cable run or upgrade to a higher-wattage PoE infrastructure.
