Description

Geovision 84-EVD5100-0010 5MP Indoor IP Dome Camera

Overview

The Geovision 84-EVD5100-0010 is a 5MP CMOS dome camera built for fixed indoor surveillance in retail, office, and light commercial environments. The 3-9mm varifocal lens (approximately 1:3 zoom) lets you adjust coverage from wide to moderate telephoto without swapping hardware — useful when mounting height or coverage area changes mid-project. Captures 30 fps at 5MP resolution, delivering usable detail for identity and activity verification across typical indoor distances (10–40 feet depending on final lens setting).

Compatibility

The GV-EVD5100 integrates with any standard IP video management system (VMS) or network video recorder (NVR) that supports ONVIF-compliant cameras over Ethernet. Direct connection to Geovision GV-NVR series recorders via RTSP streaming is supported. Works with 802.3af PoE switches—no separate power supply required when PoE is available. Pair this camera with network video recorders and managed PoE switches to build a complete system.

Installation Notes

Mount to standard ceiling or wall boxes using the included dome bracket. The varifocal lens allows field adjustment of focal length without tools—loosen the focus ring, pivot to your desired coverage, then lock. Verify PoE availability at your switch before installation to avoid running separate 12VDC runs. The dome housing supports passive ceiling or surface-mount installations; avoid direct sunlight on the lens itself to prevent internal condensation in humid environments.
