Geovision GV-POE0100 1-Port PoE Extender
Overview
The Geovision GV-POE0100 is a single-port PoE extender that pushes 802.3af power and data beyond standard Ethernet distance limits. Deploy it when your IP camera or wireless access point sits too far from the nearest PoE switch or injector — typically in warehouse ceiling runs, outdoor perimeter fencing, or multi-floor buildings where additional power infrastructure would be impractical or costly. The GV-POE0100 operates transparently in the network path: no drivers, no configuration, no active management. It simply regenerates the PoE signal and passes traffic through.
Compatibility
Works with any device drawing 802.3af PoE power (maximum 13W, 48V DC). This includes standard Geovision IP camera lines, Axis compact domes, Hikvision entry-level turrets, and most third-party network devices rated for 802.3af. The extender also supports proprietary passive PoE implementations found in older or regional camera systems — verify your device's PoE input specification before deployment. Not compatible with PoE+ (802.3at, 30W) or PoE++ (802.3bt, high-power) devices that exceed 802.3af limits.
Installation Notes
Mount the GV-POE0100 in-line between your PoE source (switch or injector) and the remote device. Position it in accessible locations — ceiling tiles, wall cabinets, or equipment racks — to allow future troubleshooting. Use standard Cat5e or Cat6 cabling on both ports; the extender does not regenerate data or add latency. Operate within standard commercial temperature ranges (typically 0–40°C). If your cable run exceeds 100 meters total (source to extender to device), segment the run with a second extender; each unit extends reach by approximately one additional Ethernet segment.
